What can be done about security/safety of normal everyday individuals using technology?

I have this unfolding idea…

Imagine an app that acts like a (911) emergency center i.e. connects subscribers to emergency agencies (e.g. LASEMA, FRSC, LASTMA) and private security firms, which in the event of emergency e.g. accident, robbery, kidnapping etc, the subscriber can press a panic button on his/her phone and the respective firm(s) is(are) notified.

To enjoy the service you will have to register on the app, your location (via phone) will be monitored by the emergency center. Given that in the case of robbery and kidnapping the phone is what is first taken, this necessitates the need for a second device e.g. bracelet, cuff links, wrist watch, neck chain that sends location signal on activation.

How would it work?

In the daily transit of the subscriber, he/ she will send a high alert notification when on transit in a high risk area or during unfavourable conditions e.g. flooding. So the emergency center does check in every hour until the subscriber confirms arrival, else an alarm is raised.

The subscribers will however have to make monthly payments (like a premium), depending on the risk evaluation.

Still unfolding…
