The 2nd edition of Nigeria’s foremost Slam Poetry competition, War Of Words, was held on December 15, 2013 at Prince of Anthony in Anthony Village. The event was a wonderful and exciting display of poetic verses, punch lines and rhyme schemes by new and upcoming poets. Each of the 16 poets gave a good account of themselves and the audience enjoyed every bit of it as they cheered every poetic line and snapped their fingers at each punch lines.
The judges of the day were Donna the poet, Bob Ekat and Efe Paul, and aside scoring the poets, they also commented and advised the poets after each round of the competition.
The winner of the competition was Chika Jones, who also won the $500 prize money. The 1st and 2nd runner up were Shegzrhym and Ehiz d poet, and their efforts was appreciated by one of the judges, Donna the poet, who gave each of them a cheque for N10,000.

Am I impressed? Hell yeah…just sad that I wasnt invited…thought I dont do spoken word..just watching would have been good enough…
But wait, why do all the guys have some funny names? Why did they eliminate their real names? *Just pondering though*
It was a free event, so you had an automatic invitation whether you do spoken word or not.
