Quramo Writers’ Prize: an African Award for new and emerging writers

The Quramo Writers’ Prize is an African Award for new and emerging writers. It celebrates people who are working every day to develop their craft and record our continent’s original stories. QWP aims to encourage and stimulate a new community of talented writers, providing an opportunity for otherwise unexposed talent to achieve publishing recognition and encouragement.

This year, following the success and impact of the inaugural edition of the Quramo Writers’ Prize, Quramo Publishing Limited is excited to launch a call for submissions for the 2018 cycle. QWP 2018 will open on the 31st of March 2018 and will receive entries from Africans all over the world. The deadline for the submissions of manuscripts has been extended to 11:59 p.m., 15th June 2018.

Quramo Publishing will award this year’s Prize to a deserving writer for their original, unpublished* work of fiction which has otherwise met all our other criteria. All genres of fiction will be considered.

Winner will receive:

– One Million Naira

– The Offer of a Publishing Contract

*Unpublished work is taken to mean any work that has NOT been published in printed, accessible form, for example, in an anthology, magazine, newspaper or online, with the exception of personal blogs or personal websites.
