Few weeks ago, Bob Dylan won the Nobel Prize for literature for his ‘songwriting’ skills. This didn’t go down well with a huge fraction of the literary writers’ community but isn’t this what Graciano Enwerem had predicted few years ago (2014)?
‘Due to lots of distraction in our society, writers should check their crave for much intellectual inanity and heighten the aesthetics of their arts by employing musicality, humor and whatever there is that their immediate society enjoy lest we (writers) continue to lose our audience/readers to the representatives of other arts.’ This he said in one of the lectures he delivered titled ‘PACKAGING CREATIVE WRITING FOR THE AGE’.
Just when his prophesy was fulfilled, he releases a not-so-common piece wherein he featured Prinx Emmanuel, a rap artiste, affiliated with Mirus Empire.
The Nigeria’s number poet (at the EGC ranking for 2015/16) released the piece titled ‘High Flyers’ on the 25th of October, his birthday. This is the 3rd piece from his collection that he’s released after ‘What Nigerians Want’ and ’12 Million Nonsense ‘.
