Elapse…

The feeling was ecstatic

Lost in the tides of affection

We were both dance-mates

All too soon the tunes got stuck on replay.

With skipping lines of the song

howbeit our duet lost harmony

And we’ve become unfamiliar to our chorus.

For gain; my love was purchased

And the offering of my devotion

became a spectacle of scorn.

The distance is become my redemption

For my doubts are pruned.

Her song no longer arouses

And the memories; my wisdom pills.

Once I was a prisoner to her love

Seeing she prides as a collector of hearts

Alas choice blindfolded her

And ease is become her undoing

Tis my freedom; if I said I loved you I lied
