Hi fellow literati,
It’s time again! EGC is calling for nominations of Poets (both spoken and written) whom we feel deserves commendation in the year 2013.
If you want to see last year list, please Click.
In order to get all poets who deserve commendation on the list, we encourage you to nominate as many poets as you can.
Please note that all nominations must be sent to egcmails@gmail.com or olumide.bisiriyu@gmail.com
Nominations not sent here will not be counted. Also endeavour to give reasons why you nominate/rank them the way you did: what we are doing is simply to appreciate the nominees for their efforts in the outgoing year. We also implore you to research on who you nominate  and tell us briefly about what they/their poetry did in year 2013. This is to avoid the issue from last year where some nominees were actually not poets- though they are writers. The following might help you in giving nominations:
  1.       Who is a poet?
  2.       How deep is his/her poetry?
  3.        How original is the person?
  4.      Any contribution to poetry in 2013?
  5.      Is he/she a performance/written poet, or does both well?

Someone asked that we give gifts to the Top 10 Poets on the list this year… We are working on that, and we welcome anyone who wishes to partner with us on it. There may also be gift for one person (via a raffle) who is able to nominate as number 1, the poet that will eventually be number one this year.
For further enquiries please call +2347034198264 or +2348176041813. Deadline for all nominations to come in is 13th December 2013.
Let the nominations begin!
Best regards,
Olumide Bisiriyu

  1. Hi guys. Must confess….great job you guys have been doing. Great to know that our much maligned creative industry, particularly in the poetry genre, is not going to be swept off into the waning abyss of extinction after all.

However, while i commend you guys strongly in view of the lofty work, i cannot but observe a nitbit of sloppiness in the use of language by the editors and publishers of the above subject publication. The site is a symbol of our creative dexterity and should therefore reflect the sound literary ingenuity of the Nigerian Poet.

Words should be checked and counter-checked against spelling slips; and tenses reviewed for grammatical flaws. Even the written use of language should be reflective of the aesthetic grandeur, symbolic of the subject industry – POETRY.

Kindly therefore review the opening sentence on the above subject publication and make necessary corrections.

All the best guys in the season’s celebration and see you all on the other side of the year-clock.

  2. Word up is a front runner in this game, so impressed with this innovation. Hopefully joeburgg77.blogspot.com would make it into this category next year, the Raging Storm!!
