The biggest spoken word poetry competition in Nigeria, War Of Words, is back. The Sixth season of this competition is set to kick off from April 1, 2017 and entry for this competition is by online video submission.
The event, War Of Words, was conceptualized to unearth, groom and bring together new, young and exciting poets from all over Nigeria (and even Africa) to showcase their poetic talent on a major platform for poetry in the world. The competition is usually both online and on stage involving article/ poem writing, video presentations, and on stage Performance of Poetry/ Spoken Word. It is a platform that announces the little known talents to the world, and it usually attracts poets from different part of Nigeria to compete on stage for a grand prize.
The vision of i2X Media, the organizer of the event, is to develop a vibrant Spoken Word Poetry industry in Nigeria which will increase the level of literacy among youths and provide employment/ jobs for poets and poetry lovers.
i2X Media have successfully organized 5 editions of War Of Words from June 2013 till date, and have had five winners. The past winners are: Titi Mabogunje (17 year old student of African Leadership Academy, South Africa.) War Of Words 1, Chika Jones Onwuasoanya (graduate of FUTO Owerri) War Of Words 2, Graciano Enwerem (OAP at Rhythm FM in Port Harcourt) War Of Words 3, Paul Word (Student of UNIBEN) War Of Words 4 and Ibukun Ajagbe (15 year old student) War Of Words 5, who then went to become a runner up at God’s Children Great Talent (GCGT) 2016 edition.
War Of Words Season 6 promises to be an epic battle of wits, wordplay and intellect. The competition will run from April to June 2017, and it promises exciting content and results for brands that partners with us.
What makes this exciting is that the Brand that partners with our team will receive leverage as the entries will be centered around the brand’s values and other such matters they might want promoted online.
